Styles and Modalities

Robin offers a direct and honest, yet compassionate space for healing. With a background in social work, Robin leans into strengths-based approaches to mental health. Clients can expect a safe space to discuss sensitive topics with a non-judgmental mental health professional who will advocate for them.

  • Strengths-Based Approach – This puts the strengths and resources of people, communities, and their environment, rather than their problems and pathologies, at the center of the helping process.
  • Humanistic Approach – This is grounded in the belief that individuals inherently strive for self-actualization and have the internal resources for growth and healing.
  • Integrative Approach – This evaluates a client’s physical and biological makeup, their psychological, emotional, and mental health, their social supports or environments, and their religion or spirituality – what they consider to be sacred.
  • Collaborative Approach – Interdisciplinary collaboration is an important aspect of social work that enables a team of specialists from different helping disciplines, such as psychiatry, psychology, counseling, medicine, and public health, to work alongside the social worker to provide services to a client. This positions the client as the expert of their own life, with guidance from various sources.
